Working Student (f/m/d) Developer / Dev-Ops

As a Working Student in Server Development, you will join the Image Factory team within STRATO and contribute to the automation and tooling behind our container image portfolio. This role combines software development and DevOps practices, offering hands-on experience with modern infrastructure and container technologies.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to build, maintain, and improve processes around container image creation, testing, and delivery.

Tasks

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Shell (Bash).
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for building and distributing container images.
• Work with container images based on UBI, Alpine, Ubuntu, and Debian.
• Assist in maintaining and optimizing development and build environments.
• Contribute to image hardening, testing, and quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate with the team on tooling, workflows, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a university (mandatory for working student position).
• Solid understanding of Linux and confidence working on the command line.
• Basic knowledge of containerization and/or virtualization concepts.
• Experience with Python development and Shell scripting (Bash).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with CI/CD systems.
• Exposure to container ecosystems (e.g., Docker or similar tools).
• Interest in image scanning, security, or software supply chain topics.
