As a QA Engineer Working Student, you'll test and validate our products, spot and report defects early on and assist other QA team members. You'll help shape quality-focused test strategies and enhance user experiences for customers building their dream websites, while manually testing new product features before and after production releases and using our automation regression frameworks. You will benefit from hands-on guidance from an experienced QA mentor and get up to speed with our technologies and processes.

About the Working Student program:

This program is intended for students (currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program) who want to gain experience, following what they learned in a specialized faculty, in order to become IT specialists. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a dynamic Agile team and be responsible for testing and validating both new and existing functionalities and designs, ensuring high-quality delivery alongside product management and development;
  • Verify that the product meets all specified requirements;
  • Develop test scenarios from requirements, specifications and technical design documents;
  • Keep test documentation current with any changes in requirements;
  • Conduct a range of tests, including functional, non-functional, integration, smoke and automation regression;
  • Analyze and report on testing outcomes;
  • Pinpoint and document problem areas and defects;
  • Engage in discussions with developers to address and resolve issues;
  • Monitor and manage the life-cycle of bugs;
  • Re-test resolved defects to ensure they are fixed;
  • Plan, estimate and execute comprehensive testing activities;
  • Actively participate in the team’s Scrum process;
  • Assist automation engineers in creating and refining automated testing solutions.

We appreciate:

  • BS degree or currently studying in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent;
  • A creative, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for testing web applications from a user-centric perspective;
  • Strong analytical skills with an eagle eye for details and interested in Quality Assurance;
  • Familiarity with the software development life-cycle and methodologies;
  • Basic understanding of software QA methodologies, tools and processes;
  • Familiarity with web application manual testing techniques;
  • Problem-solving skills with an algorithmic approach;
  • Being a collaborative team player who is a quick learner, highly motivated and self-driven;
  • Having a proactive mindset, willing to share out of the box ideas and bring them to life;
  • Very good communication and self-organizing skills;
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of OOP concepts and Java;
  • Familiarity with AI technologies;
  • Basic knowledge of  test automation frameworks;
  • Agile / SCRUM methodologies know-how;
  • Basic Linux skills;
  • Familiarity with version-control systems such as Git;
  • Knowledge of Test Automation principles and best practices (e.g. The Testing Pyramid).
