About the team:

At United-Domains, we power the backbone of domain registration and management services for over 300 000 customers worldwide with access to 1000+ TLDs. Our Backend Team is the engine behind seamless domain ordering, DNS management, and scalable infrastructure. The role:

We’re hiring a skilled Software Developer to enhance our domain ordering backend service. You’ll design, optimize, and maintain critical systems handling high-volume transactions, API integrations, and database architecture. Your work will ensure reliability, scalability, and security for our global domain services.

We also offer on-the-job training. If your skills and experience do not entirely match the job description, but you have the technical experience and ability to quickly pick up new skills we are ready to teach you. This extends even to Perl, if you’re highly experienced in another language and open to learning Perl, we welcome you.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Perl-based backend services for domain ordering;
  • Integrate with third-party APIs (JSON/XML) for domain registration and management;
  • Building new backend services in Java / GO;
  • Design and optimize MySQL schemas, queries, and data workflows;
  • Troubleshoot Linux service issues and ensure maximum system availability;
  • Collaborate with teams to refine software methodologies and CI/CD practices;
  • Document solutions and contribute to architectural decisions.

We appreciate:

  • Perl expertise: Backend/systems development, CPAN module usage, and script optimization;
  • Java or Go experience;
  • At least 3 years of experience in backend development;
  • Linux Proficiency: Command-line mastery, service deployment, and troubleshooting;
  • Database Design: MySQL schema development and complex query tuning;
  • APIs & Integrations: Experience with remote APIs (JSON/XML/REST);
  • Version Control: Git;
  • Core Skills: Fluent English, exceptional problem-solving, and knowledge of SDLC best practices.

Would be a plus:

  • Domain industry knowledge (DNS, nameservers, domain lifecycle);
  • Familiarity with Modern Perl practices (Moose, PSGI, Plack);
  • Experience with Mini-CPAN or internal CPAN management.

Bonus skills(Value Add):

  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes);
  • JavaScript proficiency;
  • CI/CD pipeline design (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
